Rava Vadai/Semolina Vadai

img_4704This is a tasty snack which goes well with a cup of tea. You can prepare this for kids when they come from school and they will surely love it. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Rava/Semolina -1cup
  • Curd -1/2cup
  • Onion -1/4cup chopped
  • Ginger -1tsp(Optional)
  • Currl leaves –A spring
  • Green chilli -2
  • Water -2tblsp
  • Whole pepper/Milagu -1/2tsp
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil –For deep frying

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Chop green chilli and ginger into small pieces
  • Soak rava in curd and water for 10minutes

Procedure:

  • Soak rava in curd and water for 10minutes
  • Add onion, green chilli, curry leaves, ginger, and pepper and mix it well to a stiff dough. If necessary sprinkle some water. Don’t make it too watery
  • Pour oil in a pan for deep frying
  • Take a portion of the dough and tap it in your hands and drop it in the oil and fry on both sides till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then drain it on a tissue and serve hot with chutney
  • Rava Vadai is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Soak rava in curd and water for 10minutes. Add onion, green chilli, curry leaves, ginger, and pepper and mix it well to a stiff dough. If necessary sprinkle some water. Don’t make it too watery
