Cumin Pepper Rasam

img_5446This is a tasty and quick rasam which you can easily prepare for lunch. You can take it with hot steamed rice. It can be prepared quickly and you can easily prepare this when you are in a hurry. It also helps in digestion and you can prepare this and give for small kids too. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Pepper -1tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves –A springREd chilli -2
  • Garlic -3
  • Tamarind –lemon size
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulunthu -1/4tsp
  • Hing/Perunkayam –A pinch
  • Coriander leaves –A small amount
  • Red chilli powder -1/2tsp
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil -As required

Preparation:

  • Extract tamarind juice from tamarind

Procedure:

  • Grind pepper, cumin seeds, garlic, chilli powder in mixie by adding water and add tamarind water and salt and mix well
  • Pour this is a pan and boil till it boils slightly
  • Then pour oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, red chilli, urad dal and curry leaves and mix it and add to the rasam
  • Then add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Cumin Pepper Rasam is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
