Carrot Beetroot Halwa

img_5135This is a delicious dessert which is made with carrots and beetroots. Carrots and beetroot are good for health and we can eat it raw or make it as a fry or we can make sweets too. Even people who don’t like to eat carrots and beetroot will like this halwa. This requires only few ingredients and it is very easy to prepare. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Carrot -1 cups grated
  • Beetroot -1cup grated
  • Milk -1 ¼ cup
  • Sugar/Jaggery -3/4 cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elakai powder/Elachi powder -1tsp
  • Cashews -5-8(Optional)
  • Ghee -5tsp

Preparation:

  • Wash carrots and beetroot and peel the skin and grate it using a grater

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tsp ghee in a pan
  • Add carrots and fry
  • Then add beetroot and fry
  • Then add milk and boil in high flame till it becomes dry and stir occasionally
  • Add sugar or jaggery and stir in low flame till the halwa becomes thick
  • If you are adding cashews add at this stage
  • Then add cardamom powder and mix well and add 4tsp ghee and mix well
  • Carrot Beetroot Halwa is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
