Maida Halwa/Bombay Halwa

IMG_4202This is a tasty and quick snack which you can prepare for any occasion. The taste will be very great and it can be prepared within half an hour. It also requires very few ingredients. This is also known as Bombay Halwa and kids will surely enjoy this. The recipe is as follows

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Maida/All-purpose Flour -1/2cup
  • Sugar/Jaggery -3/4cup
  • Ghee -3/4cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elakai thool/Elachi powder -1/4tsp
  • Food Color –A pinch (Optional)
  • Corn Flour -1/2tblsp

Procedure:

  • Pour ghee in a pan
  • Add maida and fry it till nice aroma comes and keep it aside
  • Take jaggery in a pan and add half cup water and allow to boil till it reaches one string consistency
  • Then add maida and mix it well and add ghee in between and stir till it starts leaving the sides of the pan
  • Then add roasted nuts if you wish
  • Maida Halwa is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
