Rava Idli/Sooji Idli/Semolina Idli

IMG_4724This is a popular South Indian dish which can be made easily at home. It can be taken for breakfast with any chutney of your choice. It can also be easily prepared when you are in a hurry. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Rava/Semolina/Sooji -1/2cup
  • Idli Batter -1/2cup
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham Parupu -1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves -A spring
  • Cashew -5
  • Green chilli -2
  • Ginger -1inch piece
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/4tsp
  • Salt -As required
  • Oil –As required

Preparation:

  • Dry fry rava till it fine aroma comes

Procedure:

  • Dry fry rava till it fine aroma comes
  • Add this to idli batter and mix well
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal, green chilli, ginger and curry leaves and fry
  • Then add this to the batter and mix well and add turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Pour this in an idli cooker and after it gets cooked allow it to cool and serve
  • Rava Idli is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
