Plantain Stem Soup/Vazhaithandu Soup

IMG_4430This is a tasty and healthy soup made with plantain stem. It is very healthy for our body as it is rich in fibre. It also helps in weight loss. So you can include it in your diet in any form like fry, soup etc. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Plantain Stem/Vazhaithandu -1/4cup chopped
  • Big onion -1/4cup chopped
  • Tomato -1
  • Coriander leaves -3stems
  • Curry leaves -5
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool –A pinch
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool –As required
  • Salt –As required
  • Butter –As required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Peel the skin and chop plantain stem into small pieces

Procedure:

  • In a mixer take onion, tomato, coriander leaves, curry leaves and chilli powder and grind it to a fine mixture by adding water
  • Pour butter in a pan and add this mixture and boil
  • Then take plantain stem in a mixer and grind it to a fine paste by adding water and add it and boil well
  • Then add salt and pepper powder as required
  • Plantain Stem Soup is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

In a mixer take onion, tomato, coriander leaves, curry leaves and chilli powder and grind it to a fine mixture by adding water

IMG_4422Pour butter in a pan and add this mixture and boil.Then take plantain stem in a mixer and grind it to a fine paste by adding water
