Peas Capsicum Rice/Pattani Kodamilagai Sadam

IMG_4435This is a tasty and quick variety rice which you can prepare easily for lunch. You can also prepare this when you have leftover rice. You can prepare easy recipes for kids as their lunch. It will be tasty too and kids enjoy it a lot. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice/Leftover Rice -1cup
  • Small onion -10
  • Capsicum -1/2
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1/4tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/4tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste -1tsp
  • Tomato -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/4tsp
  • Peas -1/4cup
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil -As required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Pressure cook peas and keep aside

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and onion and fry onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add capsicum and fry
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Add curry leaves and fry
  • Then add tomato and fry till it becomes soft and cooked
  • Then add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add cooked peas and add rice and mix well
  • Peas Capsicum Rice is now ready!!!
