Mutton Roast

IMG_4870This is an easy mutton fry which you can prepare when you are in a hurry. The taste will be so nice and it goes well as a side dish for rice, or with idli, dosa. This is one of the easy lunch recipes. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 45minutes

Ingredients:

  • Mutton -1/2kg
  • Big Onion -3
  • Tomato -3
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For home made Ginger Garlic Paste Click here –> Click)
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tblsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1tblsp
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1/2tsp
  • Coriander leaves -A spring
  • Salt -1tblsp or as required
  • Water -1/2cup
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Clean mutton pieces well in water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • After oil gets heated add onion and fry
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add tomato and fry well
  • Then add mutton and fry well
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, salt and mix well till all the mutton gets coated well with the masala
  • Then add water and boil and close the cooker and pressure cook for 5whistles in high flame and in low flame for 20minutes
  • After the pressure goes by itself, open the cooker and pour it in a pan
  • Add curry leaves and then add the boiled mixture and allow to boil
  • Then fry it till it becomes a little crisp and add coriander leaves and serve hot
  • Mutton Roast is now ready!!!
