7 Cup Burfi/7 Cup Cake

IMG_3952This is a tasty and easy snack which you can make for any occasion. This burfi gets its name from the number of cups of each ingredient. You can add carrots or coconut as you wish. You can prepare this quickly for an evening snack too. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Besan Flour/Kadalai Maavu -1cup
  • Sugar -2 and 1/2cup
  • Ghee -1 and 1/2cup
  • Carrot/Coconut -1cup
  • Milk -1cup

Preparation:

  • Grate carrots
  • Roast besan flour in 1tsp ghee till nice aroma comes and set it aside
  • Grease a tray with ghee and keep aside

Procedure:

  • Roast besan flour in 1tsp ghee till nice aroma comes and set it aside
  • Then add carrots and fry till it shrinks and set it aside
  • Take a mixing bowl and add sugar, ghee and carrots and mix well
  • Then add milk and mix it till sugar dissolves completely
  • Then add besan flour and mix well without any lumps
  • Add this mixture in a pan and keep stiring till it starts bubbling and forms a thick mass
  • Then after it starts leaving the sides of the pan and the color changes to a brown color pour it into a greased tray and slice it into pieces
  • Allow it to cool and store it in an airtight container
  • 7Cup Burfi is now ready!!!
