Drumstick Poricha Kulambu/Murungakai Poricha Kulambu

IMG_4547This is a quick and easy curry made with drumstick. It can be prepared easily when you are in a hurry. It requires only a few ingredients and it is very healthy too. It can be taken with hot steamed rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Drumstick/Murungakai -2
  • Coconut -1/2cup grated
  • Roasted Peanuts/Verkadalai -1/4cup
  • Small onion/Shallots -10
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/4tsp
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil -As required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind coconut and peanuts to a fine paste

Procedure:

  • Take drumstick in a pan and boil it along with water and salt till it gets cooked
  • Then add coconut peanut paste and mix well and boil and switch off the flame
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add curry leaves and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color and add salt and turmeric powder and mix well and pour it into drumstick coconut mixture and mix well
  • Drumstick Poricha Kulambu is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
