Almond Halwa/Badam Halwa

IMG_4677This is a quick and healthy snack which can be made easily. The taste will be very nice and you will surely like it. You can add food color in this recipe if you wish but I didn’t add it as it is not healthy. You can easily prepare this for any festivals like Diwali, Christmas etc. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Soaking Time: 1hour

Ingredients:

  • Badam/Almonds -1/2cup
  • Sugar/Jaggery -3/4cup
  • Water -1/2cup
  • Ghee -3tblsp
  • Milk -1/2cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elachi powder/Elakai thool -1/4tsp
  • Kesari Color –A pinch (Optional)

Preparation:

  • Soak Almonds for 1hour and peel the skin off from it

Procedure:

  • Soak Almonds for 1hour and peel the skin off from it and grind it with 1/4cup milk
  • In a pan take jaggery or sugar along with water and boil it till it dissolves completely
  • Then add badam paste and mix well without lumps
  • Then add remaining milk and mix well
  • Add cardamom powder and stir in low flame
  • Add ghee and stir till the halwa starts leaving the sides of the pan
  • Then switch off the flame and serve
  • Badam Halwa is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
