Green Peas Fry/Pachai Pattani Kootu

IMG_4257This is a simple and tasty fry made with peas. It can be taken as a side dish with rice. The taste will be very nice and all will surely like this.  The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 5minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Green Peas/Pattani -1cup
  • Big onion -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Coconut Gratings -1/4cup
  • Green chilli -3
  • Sombu powder/Perunjeeraka thool/Fennel powder -1/4tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind coconut, green chilli and fennel powder in a mixer

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add peas and fry well till it gets cooked. Else add some water and close and cook
  • Grind coconut, green chilli and fennel powder in a mixer and add this and salt and mix well
  • Peas Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
