Cluster Beans Fry/Kothavarangai poriyal

IMG_4458This is a fry recipe made with cluster beans. You can have this as a side dish with rice. It is very easy and tasty fry which can be made quickly. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cluster Beans/Kothavarangai -1cup chopped
  • Big onion -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1/2tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Green chilli -3
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Wash cluster beans well in water and discard the head and tail portions
  • Chop cluster beans into small pieces
  • Grind coconut and green chilli coarsely without adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, green chilli and curry leaves and fry
  • Then add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add cluster beans and fry well till it gets cooked
  • Then add salt and mix well
  • Grind coconut and green chilli coarsely without adding water and add this and mix well
  • Cluster beans Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
