Potato Cutlet/Urulai Kilangu Cutlet

IMG_3877This is a North Indian snack prepared with potatoes. It is very easy to prepare and you can have it as a snack or you can have it as a side dish for rice. For children who don’t like to eat potatoes you can prepare cutlets like this and give and they will surely like it. You can have this cutlet with tomato sauce or green chutney. You can make it quickly when you are in a hurry. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Potato/Urulai Kilangu -3
  • Corn Flour -1tblsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1/2tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1tsp
  • Garam Masala -1/2tsp
  • Coriander leaves -2tblsp
  • Bread Crumbs –As required
  • Egg -1
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil –For deep frying

Preparation:

  • Pressure cook potatoes till it gets cooked and peel the skin and mash it well with a masher

Procedure:

  • Take an egg and beat well
  • Take bread crumbs in a plate
  • In a bowl take the mashed potatoes and add corn flour, chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander leaves and salt and mix well
  • Take small portion of it and press it with hand and form a circle and dip in egg and coat it with bread crumbs and keep
  • Pour oil for deep frying
  • Deep fry the cutlets one by one and drain using kitchen towel
  • Potato Cutlet is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
