Potato Carrot Masala

IMG_3632This is an easy and tasty gravy made with potato and carrot. It can be taken with poori and chapatti. You can easily prepare this when you are in a hurry. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Potato -3(boiled and mashed)
  • Green chilli -5
  • Ginger Garlic Paste -1tsp
  • Big Onion -2
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Carrots -2
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Besan Flour/Kadalai Maavu -2tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Pressure cook potato for 4 whistles in high flame and peel the skin and mash it
  • Mix besan flour with water to form a paste
  • Grate carrots

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Add grated carrots and fry
  • Then add the boiled mashed potatoes and add salt and turmeric powder and mix well
  • Then add besan flour mixed with water and boil well
  • Potato Carrot Masala is now ready!!!
