Plantain Bajji/Vazhakai Bajji

IMG_3454This is a quick and tasty snack which can be made easily if you have ready made mix in hand. You can also use instant mix bought from stores or you can use homemade bajji powder too. If you want red color you can add food color too. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Homemade Bajji Mix/Readymade Bajji Mix -1/2cup(For home made bajji mix –>Click)
  • Plantain/Vazhakai -1
  • Water –As required
  • Red Food Color –A pinch (Optional)
  • Chilli powder/Milagai thool –As required
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil –For deep frying

Preparation:

  • Take bajji mix in a bowl and add chilli powder and salt and mix water with it to form a batter
  • Peel the skin from plantain and slice it into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Take bajji mix in a bowl and add chilli powder and salt and mix water with it to form a batter
  • Pour oil in a pan for deep frying
  • Peel the skin from plantain and slice it into small pieces and dip it in the batter and insert it in the oil and deep fry till it becomes brown
  • Flip it to the other side and fry and then drain it in a kitchen towel to drain the oil
  • Plantain Bajji is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Flip it to the other side and fry and then drain it in a kitchen towel to drain the oil. Plantain Bajji is now ready!!!
