Egg Rice/Muttai Sadam

IMG_3687This is an easy and quick recipe which you can easily prepare when you are in a hurry. You can prepare this as a lunch recipe for kids easily. This can also be prepared when you have leftover rice at home. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Egg -1
  • Big onion -1
  • Curry leaves – A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Tomato -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1/2tsp
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -1/2tsp
  • Ghee -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Cook Rice
  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tsp ghee in a pan
  • Add egg and fry and add salt and pepper powder to it and mix well
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add tomato and mix well till it becomes soft
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add 1/2cup water and allow to boil till the raw smell goes off
  • Then add rice and mix well
  • Then add fried egg and mix well
  • Egg Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
