Chicken Curd Curry/Kozhi Thayir Kulambu

IMG_3589This is a tasty chicken curry which you can prepare easily. It can be taken with rice, idli, dosa, chapatti and parota. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Chicken -1/2kg
  • Curd/Yogurt -1/2cup
  • Green chilli -4
  • Ginger Garlic paste -1tblsp
  • Tomato -2
  • Big onion -2
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Cashews -5
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tblsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves -2tblsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Wash chicken pieces well in water
  • Grind coconut to a fine paste by adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add green chilli and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color\
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Then add tomato and mix well till it becomes soft
  • Then add curd and mix well
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Add water and allow to boil
  • Then add grinded coconut and boil
  • Add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Chicken Curd Gravy is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
