Sweet Corn Biriyani

IMG_3398This is a tasty and quick biriyani with sweet corn added to it. The crunchy and nice taste of sweet corn gives an additional taste to the biriyani. You can prepare this for lunch easily and surely every kids will love this. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Corn -1/2cup
  • Basmati Rice -1cup
  • Big Onion -2
  • Tomato -3
  • Coriander leaves/Cilantro/Malli leaves -1/4cup
  • Mint leaves/Pudhina -1/4cup
  • Green chilli -4
  • Fennel seeds/Perunjeerakam/Sombu -2tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For homemade ginger garlic paste click here –> Click)
  • Cinnamon/Pattai -1inch piece
  • Cloves/Krambu -2
  • Cardamam/Elakai/Elachi -3
  • Bay leaf/Biriyani leaf -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -2tsp
  • Coconut Milk/Thengai paal –1 and 1/2 cup
  • Salt -2tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Wash basmati rice and soak for 10minutes
  • Extract the milk out from coconut and keep

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, biriyani leaf, onion and fry till onions become golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Then add mint and coriander leaves and mix well
  • Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add sweet corn, chilli powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add coconut milk and boil
  • Then add rice and close the cooker and keep for 1whistle in high flame and in low flame for 3minutes
  • Sweet Corn Biriyani is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
