Spicy Foxtail Millet Paniyaram/Thinai Kara Kuzhi Paniyaram

IMG_3142This is a healthy and spicy paniyaram with millets and dal added to it. It can be taken for breakfast or as a snack. It can be taken with any chutney of your choice. You can purchase kuzhipaniyaram pan from online from the link below:

 


Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 3-4minutes

Soaking Time: 3hours

Ingredients:

  • Foxtail Millet/Thinai -1/2cup
  • Thoor Dal/Thuvaram Parupu -1tsp
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai Parupu -2tsp
  • Moong Dal/Paasi Parupu -1tsp
  • Rice Flakes/Aval/Poha -1/4cup
  • Onion -1
  • Green chilli -2
  • Coconut Gratings -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham Parupu -1tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing/Perunkayam -1/4tsp
  • Salt –As required
  • Oil -2tblsp

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Soak Foxtail millet, Thoor dal, Channa dal, Moong dal and Rice flakes together in water for 3hours

Procedure:

  • Soak Foxtail millet, Thoor dal, Channa dal, Moong dal and Rice flakes together in water for 3hours and grind it to a batter and add salt and mix well
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, Urad dal, curry leaves, asafetida, green chilli and onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add coconut gratings and mix well and add it to the batter and mix well
  • Take a paniyaram pan and apply oil and coat it and add the batter to 3/4th of it and cook till it and then flip it to the other side and cook for 1-2minutes in medium flame
  • Thinai Kara Kuzhi Paniyaram is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
