Potato Green Gram Curry

IMG_3280This is a tasty and easy curry made with potatoes and green gram. It can be taken with chapatti and poori. It is very healthy and you can add this in your diet. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Big onion -2
  • Ginger Garlic paste -1tsp
  • Tomato -3 pureed
  • Potato -1
  • Green Gram -1/2cup
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Garam Masala -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind tomato to a fine puree

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pressure cooker
  • Add cumin seeds and after it crackles add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Add tomato puree and fry till the raw smell leaves away
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt and mix well
  • Then add potato and green gram and mix well
  • Then add water and pressure cook for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Then open the cooker and add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Potato Green Gram Curry is now ready!!!
