Amla Murabba/Sweet Jaggery Amla

IMG_2984This is a healthy recipe made with gooseberries. They are very healthy with lots of vitamins and minerals. You can prepare this and can store it and have for long time. You can use sugar or jaggery as you wish. Jaggery gives a dark brown color while sugar gives a good brown color. I have used jaggery and you can use sugar or jaggery as your wish. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry/Nellikai -8-10
  • Sugar/Jaggery -1 and 1/4cup
  • Water -1/2cup
  • Cardamom/Elakai/Elachi -1
  • Salt -1/2tsp

Preparation:

  • Wash and dry the gooseberries
  • Take water in a pan and add gooseberries and boil for 15minutes and drain water and cut gooseberries into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Wash and dry the gooseberries
  • Take water in a pan and add gooseberries and boil for 15minutes and drain water and cut gooseberries into small pieces
  • Take water in a pan and add jaggery and boil till it reaches one string consistency
  • Then add the boiled and chopped gooseberries and mix well
  • Boil for 15minutes till it gets thick then add salt, cardamom and mix well and allow to cool down
  • Store it in an airtight container
  • Jaggery Amla is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Take water in a pan and add jaggery and boil till it reaches one string consistency
