Chilli onion Chutney

IMG_3061This is a quick, spicy and easy chutney which you can prepare when you are in a hurry. You can have this as a side dish for dosa and idli. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 10minutes

Ingredients:

  • Small onion/Sambar onion/Shallots -1/4cup
  • Red chilli -5-8
  • Garlic -5
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham Parupu -1/4tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Take onion, garlic, red chilli, curry leaves in a mixer and grind it
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal and fry
  • Then add the grinded paste and fry for few minutes
  • Chilli Onion Chutney is now ready!!!
