Amla Rasam/Gooseberry Rasam/Nellikai Rasam

IMG_3211This is quick and healthy rasam made with gooseberries. Gooseberries are rich in Vitamin C. It improves body resistance and it had a lot of health benefits. So it can be added in any form in your diet. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry/Amla/Nellikai -5
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Red chilli -2
  • Garlic -3
  • Rasam Powder -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop gooseberry into small pieces and grind it in a mixer and extract the juice

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli, garlic and curry leaves and fry
  • Then add gooseberry juice, rasam powder and salt and boil
  • Add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Gooseberry Rasam is now ready!!!
