Lahori Chicken Curry

IMG_2902This is a tasty chicken curry which tastes so good. IT can be taken with idli, dosa, chapatti, naan and parotas. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 25minutes

Cooking Time: 35minutes

Ingredients:

  • Chicken -1/2kg
  • Mint leaves/Pudhina -1/4cup
  • Coriander leaves -1/2cup
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp
  • Pepper/Milagu -1/2tsp
  • Big onion -3
  • Tomato -3-4(grinded)
  • Curd -3/4cup
  • Badam -10
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Garam Masala -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves -1spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Mint leaves/Pudhina -1/4cup
  • Coriander leaves -1/2cup
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp
  • Pepper/Milagu -1/2tsp

Grind this to a smooth paste by adding ¾ cup curd

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind everything given under “For Grinding” to a fine paste by adding curd and marinate it with chicken for 30minutes
  • Grind tomato to a fine puree
  • Clean chicken pieces well in water
  • Soak badam in hot water and then peel the skin and grind it to a smooth paste

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tsp oil in a pan
  • Add onion and fry and grind it and keep
  • Pour 2tblsp oil in a pan
  • Add grinded onion paste and fry
  • Then add grinded tomato and fry
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt and mix well
  • Add the marinated chicken and add water and allow to boil
  • Add badam paste and boil
  • Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame
  • Lahori Chicken Curry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
