Yellow Peas Gravy/Pattani Gravy

IMG_1922This is a tasty and easy curry made with yellow peas. IT can be taken with chapatti, idli and dosa. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Yellow Peas/Manjal pattani -1/2cup
  • Big onion -1
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tsp
  • Tomato -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Coriander leaves – A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Soak yellow peas for 6-8hours and pressure cook it

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and fry well
  • Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder and salt and mix well
  • Add yellow peas and water and boil
  • Add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Yellow Peas Gravy is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
