White Pumpkin Halwa/Kasi Halwa/Thadiyankai Halwa

IMG_1987This is a tasty and sweet halwa made with white pumpkin. This can be given to children who do not eat white pumpkin fry or any white pumpkin dishes. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • White pumpkin/Thadiyangai -1cup
  • Sugar -1/2cup
  • Water -1/4cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elakai thool -1/4tsp
  • Food Color –A pinch (Optional)
  • Ghee -1tblsp

Preparation:

  • Peel the skin from pumpkin and grate it and squeeze the water

Procedure:

  • Add ghee in a pan
  • Add pumpkin and fry it till it gets cooked
  • Add sugar and water and mix well
  • Now boil it well till sugar gets melted and dissolved. You can also add food color if you wish
  • White Pumpkin Halwa is now ready!!!
