Snake Gourd Fry/Pudalangai Kootu

IMG_1758This is a quick and healthy fry made with snake gourd. It can be taken as a side dish with rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Snake Gourd/Pudalangai -1
  • Big Onino -1
  • Green chilli -2
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Coconut gratings -1/4cup
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop snake gourd into small pieces
  • Chop onion into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, curry leaves and onion and fry
  • Then add snake gourd and fry till it gets cooked
  • Add coconut gratings and salt and mix well
  • Snake gourd Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
