Potato Fried Gram Masala

IMG_1790This is a tasty and easy curry which is done by using pressure cooker. It can be taken as a side dish for chapatti and naan. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Potato -2
  • Green chilli -2
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tsp
  • Big Onion -1
  • Curry leaves- A spring
  • Fennel powder/Sombu thool/Perunjeeraka thool -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Fried Gram Powder/Porikadalai powder -3tblsp
  • Water -1cup
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Peel the skin from potato and chop it into small pieces
  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Powder fried gram in a mixer

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • Add cumin seeds, green chilli and ginger garlic paste and fry
  • Then add onion and fry well
  • Add curry leaves and fry
  • Then add turmeric powder, fennel powder and salt and fry well
  • Then add potato and mix well
  • Add fried gram powder and add water and pressure cook for 2whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Potato Fried Gram Masala is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a cooker. Add cumin seeds, green chilli and ginger garlic paste and fry
