Potato Curd Gravy/Urulaikilangu Thayir Gravy

IMG_2405This is a tasty and will be liked by all potato lovers. It can be taken as a side dish with chapatti, poori and naan. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Potato -2-3
  • Big onion -1
  • Tomato -1
  • Green chilli -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Curd -3tblsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion to small pieces
  • Boil potatoes and peel the skin off

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, curry leaves and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry well
  • Add tomato and fry well till it becomes soft
  • Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and mix well
  • Add boiled potatoes and fry well
  • Add curd and mix well
  • Potato curd Gravy is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, curry leaves and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
