Minced Meat Curry/Kothukari Kulambu

IMG_1655This is a tasty an easy curry made with minced meat. It can be taken as a side dish with idli, dosa, chapatti, poori, parota and naan. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Minced Meat/Kothu Kari -1/4kg
  • Big Onion -1
  • Green chilli -1
  • Cloves/Krambu -1
  • Cinnamon/Pattai –A small piece (1cm)
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Coconut -1/4cup

Grind this to a smooth paste by adding water

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Wash meat well in water
  • Grind coconut, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and turmeric powder to a fine paste

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pressure cooker
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, green chilli and onion and fry
  • Then add minced meat and mix well
  • Add water and pressure cook for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Open the cooker and add the grinded paste and boil well
  • Minced Meat Curry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pressure cooker. Add cinnamon, cloves, green chilli and onion and fry
