Kuska Biriyani/Plain Biriyani

IMG_1349This is a simple and tasty biriyani without any vegetables or meat added to it. It can be prepared easily when you are in a hurry. For chopping onion and tomatoes easily you can use food choppers. You can purchase choppers online from the link below


Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice -1cup
  • Big onion -1
  • Ginger garlic paste -2tsp
  • Green chilli -2
  • Tomatoes -2
  • Mint leaves -1/2cup
  • Coriander leaves -1/4cup
  • Cinnamon/Pattai -1inch piece
  • Cloves/Krambu -2
  • Cardamom/Elakai/Elachi -3
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Curd -1/4cup
  • Coconut milk -2cups
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Extract coconut milk from coconut
  • Wash mint and coriander leaves

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and onion and fry
  • Add green chillies and fry till onion becomes golden brown n color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add mint and coriander leaves and mix well
  • Add curd and mix it well
  • Then add coconut milk and add chilli powder and turmeric powder and boil
  • Then add rice and mix it and cook for 1whistle in high flame and in low flame for 5minutes
  • Kuska Biriyani is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
