Ivy Gourd 65/Kovakkai 65

IMG_2391This is a tasty and crispy fry made with ivy gourd. It can be had as a snack or as a side dish with rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Ivy gourd/Kovakkai -15-20
  • Besan Flour/Kadalai maavu -1/4cup
  • Rice flour/Arisi maavu -1/4cup
  • Maida -2tblsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -3tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tblsp
  • Salt –1tsp or as required
  • Oil –for deep frying

Preparation:

  • Chop kovakkai/ivy gourd into two pieces

Procedure:

  • Take all the ingredients except oil in a bowl and add water and mix to form a paste
  • Dip ivy gourd in it
  • Pour oil in a pan for deep frying
  • Add ivy gourd and deep fry it
  • Ivy gourd 65 is now ready!!!
