Foxtail Millet Payasam/Thinai Payasam

IMG_1328This is a tasty and healthy snack made with foxtail millet. The taste will be so nice and good and you will surely love this. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 5minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Foxtail Millet/Thinai -1/2cup
  • Jaggery -3/4cup
  • Milk -1/2cup
  • Ghee -2tsp
  • Cashews & Raisins -1tblsp
  • Water -1cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elachi powder/Elakai powder -1/2tsp

Preparation:

  • Roast cashews and raisins wit 1/2tsp ghee and keep aside

Procedure:

  • Pour ghee in a pan
  • Add thinai/foxtail millet and roast it till the color changes slightly
  • Add water to it and cook till it becomes soft
  • Take jaggery in a pan
  • Add water and boil
  • Add cooked thinai to this and add cardamom powder and boil
  • Then add milk and boil
  • Add the roasted nuts and mix it
  • Thinai Payasam is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
