Coriander Stem Fry/Kothamalli thandu poriyal

IMG_2230This is a tasty and easy dish made with coriander stems. It can be taken as a side dish with rice, idli and dosa. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 5minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Coriander stem –from 1bunch coriander
  • Mustard seeds -1tsp
  • Green chillies -3-5
  • Channa dal/Kadalai parupu -1tsp
  • Peanuts -2tblsp
  • Poppy seeds/Kasa kasa/Khus khus -2tsp
  • Sesame seeds/Ellu -1tsp
  • Turmerci powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Clean and chop coriander stem into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and green chilli and fry
  • Then add peanuts and roast well
  • Add channa dal and mix
  • Add sesame seeds and poppy seeds and fry
  • Then add coriander stem and fry
  • Add coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Coriander Stem Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and green chilli and fry
