Coconut Powder Rice/Thengai Podi Sadam

IMG_2269This is a tasty and quick recipe. You can prepare this when you are in a hurry or when you have left over rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Coconut -1/4cup grated
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai parupu -1tblsp
  • Urad Dal/ULutham Parupu -2tblsp
  • Red chilli -2+1
  • Coconut -1tblsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp+1tsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Cook rice

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tblsp oil in a pan
  • Add 2 red chilli and urad dal to it and fry
  • Then add channa dal and coconut and fry
  • Allow it to cool and grind it to a coarse powder
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add red chilli, cumin seeds and curry leaves and fry
  • Then add grated coconut and fry
  • Add rice and grinded powder and mix well
  • Coconut Powder Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour 1tblsp oil in a pan. Add 2 red chilli and urad dal to it and fry
