Spicy Mutton Curry

IMG_9108This is a tasty and spicy mutton gravy. It can be taken with rice, idli, dosa, chapatti, naan and parota. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 25minutes

Cooking Time: 40minutes

Ingredients:

  • Mutton -1/2kg
  • Curd -2tblsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For homemade ginger garlic paste click here –>Click)
  • Big onion -2
  • Green chilli -2
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Cashew -5
  • Badam -5
  • Pista -5
  • Poppy seeds/Kasa kasa/Khus khus -1tsp
  • Cloves/Krambu -2
  • Cardamom/Elakai/Elachi -3
  • Biriyani leaf -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagi thool -1tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1 and 1/2tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Cashew -5
  • Badam -5
  • Pista -5
  • Poppy seeds/Kasa kasa/Khus khus -1tsp

Grind this to a fine paste by adding water

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Wash mutton pieces well in water
  • Grind coconut, cashew, badam, pista, poppy seeds to a fine paste by adding water
  • Marinate mutton with curd and green chilli for 15minutes

Procedure:

  • Marinate mutton with curd and green chilli for 15minutes
  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • Add cloves, cardamom, biriyani leaf and onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Then add mutton pieces and mix well
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt and mix well
  • Grind coconut, cashew, badam, pista, poppy seeds to a fine paste by adding water and add this and mix well and boil by adding water
  • Close the cooker and pressure cook for 3whistle in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Spicy Mutton Curry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
