Radish Rice/Mullangi Sadam

IMG_1154This is an easy and healthy variety rice recipe made with radish. You can also prepare this with leftover rice too. You can easily prepare this as a lunch for kids. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Radish -1/2cup
  • Big onion -1/2
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham Parupu -1/2tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tsp
  • Lemon juice -1tblsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Grate radish
  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Cook rice

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and onion and fry
  • Then add curry leaves and fry
  • Add radish and fry till it gets cooked
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add rice and lemon juice and mix well
  • Radish Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and onion and fry
