Masala Vadai

IMG_1523This is a tasty vadai recipe whick can be made for an evening snack. It can also be taken as a side dish with rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Channa Dal/Kadalai Parupu -1cup
  • Small onion/Shallots/Samba onion -1cup
  • Green chilli -2
  • Fennel Seeds/Perunjeerakam -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil –For deep frying

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Soak channa dal in water for 2hours

Procedure:

  • Soak channa dal in water for 2hours and keep 2tblsp aside and grind the remaining in a mixer along with coriander leaves, curry leaves, green chilli, and fennel seeds
  • Grind it without adding water
  • Add the remaining channa dal and mix well
  • Add chopped onions and mix well
  • Add salt and mix well
  • Make small portion of batter and tap it to form a vada and deep fry it in oil
  • Masala Vadai is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
