Ladyfingers Rice/Vendakkai Sadam/Okra Rice

IMG_1914This is a tasty and easy variety rice recipe made with ladyfingers. It can also be prepared when you have left over rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Ladyfingers/Vendakkai -1/4cup
  • Big onion -1
  • Tomato -1
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1/2tsp
  • Water -1/2cup
  • Salt -1/2tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp+1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Wash and chop ladyfingers and tomato into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tblsp oil in a pan
  • Add ladyfingers and fry and keep
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  • Then add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Add water and boil for some time
  • Then add rice and mix well
  • Add fried ladyfingers and mix well
  • Ladyfingers Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
