Capsicum Coconut Chutney/Thengai kudamilagai chutney

IMG_1455This is a quick and a tasty chutney. It can be taken as a side dish for idli and dosa. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Capsicum/Kudamilagai -1
  • Garlic -7
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1/2tsp
  • Coconut gratings -1/4cup
  • Tamarind -1inch piece
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop capsicum into small pieces
  • Grate coconut

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add garlic and fry
  • Add capsicum and fry till it gets brown in color
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add coconut gratings and mix well and switch off the flame
  • Add it in a mixer and grind it along with tamarind and grind it
  • Capsicum Coconut Chutney is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add garlic and fry
