Radish Chutney/Mullangi Chutney

IMG_9632This is a tasty and easy chutney made with radish. It goes well as a side dish with idli and dosa. The recipe is as follows
Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Radish/Mullangi -1
  • Big Onion -1
  • Red chilli -2
  • Garlic -5pods
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai parupu -1tblsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -2tsp
  • Tomato -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Coconut -1tblsp
  • Tamarind -1inch piece
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Wash and chop radish into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add channa dal, urad dal, red chilli, garlic and onion and fry till onion gets golden brown in color
  • Then add curry leaves and radish and fry well till radish gets cooked
  • Then add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add salt and coconut and grind it by adding tamarind
  • If you wish temper by adding oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves and fry and add it to chutney and mix well
  • Radish Chutney is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add channa dal, urad dal, red chilli, garlic and onion and fry till onion gets golden brown in color
