Pepper Elephant Yam Fry/Milagu Senai Kilangu Varuval

IMG_0637This is a tasty fry made with yam. The preparation is also easy which goes well as a side dish with rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Elephant Yam/Senai Kilangu -1/2cup
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -2tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Wash and peel the skin and chop yam into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Boil yam with water till it gets cooked and strain water
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and curry leaves and fry
  • Then add boiled yam and fry
  • Then add pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Pepper Yam Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
