Maharashtra Chicken Curry With Goda Masala

IMG_0478This is a maharastra curry which is prepared by using Goda masala. The taste will be very nice and it tastes best with rice, idli, dosa, roti, naan and paratas. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 40minutes

Ingredients:

  • Chicken -1/2kg
  • Big onion -2
  • Red chilli -2
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For homemade ginger garlic paste click here –> Click)
  • Tomato -2
  • Curry leaves -A spring
  • Turmeric powder -1tsp
  • Water -1/2cup
  • Salt -1tsp
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Goda Masala:

  • Cloves/Krambu -3
  • Cinnamon/Pattai -2inch stick
  • Biriyani leaf -1
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Fenugreek /Venthayam -1tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tblsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Coconut gratings -1/4cup
  • Sesame seeds/Ellu -1tblsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Wash and clean chicken pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a cooker
  • Add red chilli, onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and fry well
  • Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft
  • Add curry leaves, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Add chicken pieces and water and pressure cook for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Now we can prepare the Goda Masala by pouring oil in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves, biriyani leaf, cumin seeds, fenugreek, sesame seeds, coconut and salt
  • Allow it to cool and grind it with chilli powder and coriander powder by adding water
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add goda masala and fry
  • Now add the pressure cooked chicken and boil
  • Maharashtra Chicken curry Using Goda Masala is now ready!!!
