Maasi Sambal/Dry Maldive Fish powder

IMG_0489This is a quick and tasty sambal recipe which can be taken with rice, idli and dosa. Maasi is available in powdered form and in rock hard form. If you get the hard one, crush it using manual stone grinder. Don’t add it directly in blender as the blades will get damaged. Maasi is available in all departmental stores and you can get it from there. The recipe is as follows
Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 5minutes

Ingredients:

  • Maasi/Dry Maldive fish -2pieces
  • Shallots/Small onion -10-15
  • Grated Coconut -1/4cup
  • Lemon juice -1tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1 tsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Crush maasi into powder using manual crusher

Procedure:

  • Take your maasi and crush it
  • Mix the maasi with onion, coconut, salt, chilli powder and lemon juice in a mixer and blend it
  • Maasi Sambal is now ready!!!
