Coriander leaves Rice/Kothamalli leaves Sadam

IMG_0283This is an easy variety rice recipe which you can prepare quickly when you are in a hurry. It can also be prepared when you have left over rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Big onion -1
  • Coriander leaves -1cup
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai parupu -1tblsp
  • Peanuts/Nilakadalai -2tblsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1tsp
  • Cinnamon/Pattai -1inch piece
  • Cardamom/Elakai/Elachi -2
  • Biriyani leaf -1
  • Red chilli -2
  • Lemon juice -1tblsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Big onion -1
  • Coriander leaves -1cup

Grind this to a fine paste by adding water

Preparation:

  • Cook rice
  • Grind onion and coriander leaves to a fine paste by adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and after they crackle, add urad dal, channa dal, peanuts, cinnamon, cardamom, biriyani leaf and fry
  • Then add red chilli and fry
  • Grind onion and coriander leaves to a fine paste by adding water
  • Add this and mix well
  • Then add rice, salt and lemon juice and mix well
  • Coriander Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
