Carrot Jack fruit Seeds Fry/Carrot Palakottai Poriyal

IMG_0614This is a tasty fry which can be made easily. This can be taken as a side dish with rice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Carrot -1
  • Jackfruit seeds/Palakottai -8
  • Big onion -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad dal/Ulutham parupu -1/2tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Green chilli -2
  • Fennel powder/Sombu powder/Perunjeerakam powder -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Green chilli -2
  • Fennel powder/Sombu powder/Perunjeeraka powder -1tsp

Grind this coarsely without adding water

Preparation:

  • Chop carrot into small pieces
  • Pressure cook jack fruit seeds with water and cook for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 5minutes
  • Grind coconut, green chilli and fennel powder coarsely without adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and after they crackle, add urad dal, cumin seeds, curry leaves and onion and fry
  • Add carrots and fry well
  • Add jack fruit seeds and fry well
  • Grind coconut, green chilli and fennel powder coarsely without adding water and add this and salt and mix well
  • Carrot Jackfruit Seeds Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
