Broad Beans Tomato Fry/Avarakkai Thakkali Kootu

IMG_0520This is an easy fry which can be made when you are in a hurry. It can be taken as a side dish for rice and tastes so nice. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Avarakkai/Broad Beans -1cup
  • Big Onion -1
  • Tomato -1
  • Green chilli -2
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham Parupu -1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces
  • Wash and chop broad beans/avarakkai into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves, green chilli and onion and fry
  • Then add broad beans/avarakkai and fry till it gets cooked
  • Then add tomato and salt and mix well
  • Broad beans/Tomato fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves, green chilli and onion and fry
