Bitter gourd Cutlet/Pavakkai Cutlet

IMG_0942This is a tasty and healthy cutlet made with bitter gourd. It can be taken as a side dish with rice or for evening snack. People who do not like bitter gourd can have cutlets like this. This too will be having a little bitter taste but it will be very tasty. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Bitter gourd/Pavakkai -1
  • Carrot -1
  • Potato -1
  • Big onion -2
  • Egg -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thoolt -1tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Bread Slices -2
  • Salt -1tsp
  • Oil –As required

Preparation:

  • Grate carrot and bitter gourd using a grater
  • Boil potato and mash them

Procedure:

  • Grate bitter gourd using a grater
  • Take the mashed potato, grated bitter gourd, egg and carrot in a bowl
  • Add onion to it and mix well
  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add bread slices and mix well and form cutlets
  • Pour oil in a pan and cook these cutlets in low flame till it gets cooked
  • Bitter gourd Cutlet is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Grate bitter gourd using a grater

IMG_0929Take the grated bitter gourd, egg and carrot in a bowl

IMG_0930Add onion to it and mix well

IMG_0931Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well

IMG_0932Then add bread slices and mix well and form cutlets

IMG_0934Pour oil in a pan and cook these cutlets in low flame till it gets cooked
