Thenga Manga Pattani Sundal/Coconut Raw Mango Yellow Peas Sundal

IMG_8962This is a tasty sundal recipe with a spicy, sweet and tangy taste. The preparation is very easy and the taste will be awesome. The addition of coconut gives a sweet taste and raw mango gives tangy taste and the spice powders gives a spicy taste. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Raw Mango/Manga -1/2
  • Yellow Peas -1cup
  • Big Onion -2
  • Green chilli -2
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Mustard Seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -2tsp
  • Coconut gratings -1/4cup
  • Salt -2tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Soak yellow peas for 6-8 hours
  • Pressure cook yellow peasby adding water in cooker for 2whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Chop onion and green chilli into small pieces
  • Grate raw mango using a grater
  • Grate coconut

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and after they crackle add green chilli, curry leaves and onion and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add grated raw mango and mix well
  • Then add the cooked yellow peas and mix well
  • Then add chilli powder, salt and coconut gratings and mix well
  • Thenga Manga Pattani Sundal is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
